About Dr. Nigel Croft

Dr. Nigel H. Croft has been actively involved in quality management since 1974 and is recognised as one of the world's foremost experts in quality management system and conformily assessment of management systems. Among his many professional activities, he currently holds senior management positions and server as a non-executive board member of a number of commercial and non-profit organisations in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Middle East, Asia and South America. After over 15 years of active involvement with ISO/TC 176, he was appointed as chairman of its subcommittee SC2 in Feb 2010, with responsibility for the ISO 9001 requirements standard and the ISO 9004 guidelines standard, among others. IOS/TC 176/SC 2 has participation from over 80 countries represented via their National Standards Bodies, as well as liaison organisations representing industry groups and other interested parties. Dr. Croft is also an active member of ISO's joint technical coordination group, responsible for the alignment of all ISO's management system standards. Born in the UK, Nigel holds a first class honour degree in Natural Sciences from Cambrige University, England and a Doctorate in Materials Science from Sheffield University. He is a Chartered Engineer in the UK, a Fellow of the Chartered Quality Instutite and a senior member of the American Society for Quality.

About Professor Diego A. Comin           




· Diego Comin is an Associate Professor of Business Administration at Harvard
Business School since 2007. He is also Research Fellow at the Center for
Economic policy Research and Faculty Research Fellow in the National Bureau of
Economic Research’s Economic Fluctuations and Growth Program.
· Comin is a fellow of the Institute of New Economic Thinking (INET) and his work
have been supported by the Gates Foundation, the National Science
Foundation, the C.V. Star Foundation, and the Zentrum für Europäische
Wirtschaftsforschung (ZEW). 
· Comin has also advised the
government of Malaysia on its development strategies and consulted for
the World Bank, IMF, Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Citibank,
Danish Science Ministry, and the Economic and Social Research Institute
(ESRI) of the government of Japan. 
· Comin teaches his elective course
(Drivers of Competitiveness) in the MBA program and also a module in the
executive program (Program for Leadership Development).
· For four years, Comin has taught in the MBA first year required course:
Business, Government and the International Economy (BGIE). He has also
designed and led immersion programs in Peru and Malaysia.

Pengurusan Risiko


Risiko merujuk kepada kemungkinan menghadapi kerugian atau menghadapi bahaya

Pengurusan risiko adalah tindakan atau usaha yang dilakukan untuk mengenalpasti risiko yang mungkin wujud dan seterusnya cuba mengurangkan atau menghapuskannya.
Risiko kekuarangan dalam wang tunai
Pembayaran tunai lebih tinggi dari penerimaan tunai 
Disebabkan penjualan kredit, kutipan hutang tidak berkesan dan stok dibiarkan terkumpul terlalu banyak 
Perniagaan/syarikat perlu merancang kewangan dengan berhati-hati
Cara :- memohon pinjaman jangka pendek, jual produk secara tunai, kurangkan perbelanjaan dan menguruskan stok dengan lebi efektif
Risiko hutang lapuk
Jualan kredit yang tidak dapat dikutip balik 
Cara atasi
Perlu bijak memilih pelanggan untuk jualan kredit
Had kredit yang ditetapkan tidak terlalu tinggi 
Memastikan pelanggan membayar hutang lama sebelum membuat pembelian secara kredit yang baru
 
Risiko kualiti produk yang rendah
Kualiti rendah boleh menjejaskan keyakinan pelanggan dan beri kesan negatif kepada prestasi jualan

Memastikan kualiti produk mematuhi piawaian

Risiko kekurangan permintaan
Disebabkan kuasa beli pengguna menurun disebabkan keadaan ekonomi lembap, terdapat barang gantian baru dan berlaku perubahan dalam sosial budaya masyarakat.
Cara-cara:- 
Perlu kenal pasti sebab berlakunya penurunan dalam permintaan sesuatu barangan
Mencari jalan penyelesaian seperti tinjauan pemasaran terhadap kehendak pengguna bagi menghasilkan produk yang berkualiti.




 Proses Pengurusan Risiko
 
Melibatkan beberapa peringkat:
Mengenalpasti risiko
Risiko projek, produk dan perniagaan yang mungkin dikenalpasti
  Peringkat pertama 
Mengenalpasti risiko yang mungkin 
Dijalankan sebagai dalam kumpulan: pendekatan brainstroming atau melalui
pengalaman pengurus
 Jenis-jenis risiko yang mungkin:
Risiko teknologi
Risiko manusia
Risiko organisasi
Risiko peralatan
Risiko keperluan
Risiko anggaran
 
Menganalisis risiko
Kebarangkalian berlaku dinilai
Setiap risiko yang dikenalpasti akan dipertimbangkan sejauh mana kesanya. 
Ia bergantung kepada pertimbangan dan juga pengalaman yang ada pada perniagaan/syarikat. 
Hasil proses analisis ini biasanya dipaparkan dalam jadual mengikut kesan sesuatu risiko tersebut
Risiko yang telah dianalisa dan disusun mengikut ‘rank’, pertimbangan akan dibuat 
Risiko yang lebih penting akan dipertimbangkan semasa projek. 
Pertimbangan bergantung kepada kombinasi kemungkinan risiko timbul dan kesannya
 
Merancang risiko
Pelan untuk mengatasi risiko (elak atau kurangkan)
Proses mempertimbangkan setiap kunci risiko yang telah dikenalpasti dan
juga strategi untuk menguruskan risiko tersebut. 
Ia juga bergantung kepada pertimbangan dan pengalaman perniagaan/
 syarikat
 
 4 strategi pengurusan risiko
 
 *Pengelakan risikomengelak dari terlibat aktiviti berisiko 
 *Pengawalan risikoberhati-hati dalam aktiviti pengurusan 
 *Kesanggupan/ menyerap risikosediakan peruntukan menanggung risiko 
                      *Pindahan risikopemindahan kepada pihak ketiga ( insurans)
 
 
Memantau risiko
Risiko akan dinilai secara berterusan
 Melibatkan penilaian yang berterusan terhadap risiko yang telah dikenalpasti 
Proses yang berterusan, pada setiap ‘management process review’, kunci risiko mesti dipertimbangankan secara berasingan dan dibincangkan.
